The CalaClear® FLUORESCENCE SYSTEM

Designed for Fluorescence Microscopy

The CalaClear® microscope slide can be used in the same way as a standard microscope slide but without the need for the cover-slipping process.

Enhanced fluorescence image quality

Enhance Image Resolution

By using  CalaClear® Microscope Slide - A fundamental redesign of the standard microscope slide. The elimination of coverslip mounting medium between the tissue section and the coverslip reduces the chromatic and spherical aberration that is inherent to the conventional microscope slide. This results in significantly enhanced image resolution and optical flatness.

Maximise Image Contrast

The unique design of the CalaClear® microscope slide means that the sealant is applied behind the tissue section and therefore does not obscure the light path, so the CalaSeal™ black sealant can be used. This black sealant minimises extraneous light and background fluorescence, maximising image contrast.

Reduce the volume of expensive reagents

The CalaClear® slide can be used in combination with the CALAMAT® Slide Staining System to reduce reagent volumes to as little as  30µl.

By using the compact-sized CalaTab™ over the tissue section in the window of the CalaClear® slide, this creates a defined capillary gap and flow channel, therefore the volume of reagent used to cover the area of interest is reduced.

CalaClear® Fluorescence System

A highly innovative system that fundamentally re-designs the approach to fluorescence staining for microscopy.

Resultant images have enhanced resolution and contrast, whilst reducing reagent costs.
